Grass Committee: (submitted by Helen Davis)

The GRASS Committee collected fleece blankets and cash donations for blankets from MABA members.  We were able to give 80 gift bags to the residents of the Somerville Nursing Home in Somerville, TN.  Each gift bag included;  1 fleece blanket, facial tissue, lotion, deodorant, nail file, mini-candy bars, candy cane, and comb. Thank you to Doris Cooper for providing the gift bags, tissue and tags.  Thank you to our MABA members who were so generous with their gifts of cash and or a fleece blanket to help provide some cheer to these deserving residents.

Beth Mays reiterated that the Christmas bags were well received.

The committee is planning to make Valentine bags for the residents of the Galloway nursing home.  Ideas for further plans in 2006 include Health kits, Thanksgiving food baskets, and adopt-a-family at Christmas.
