President Sam Ketchum called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

  Keith has website updated.  Newsgrass is at the printer and should be at the jam,   Saturday.  There will be a profile on Duke Walker, who will be the editor of Newsgrass in 2006, in this issue.

Jim Phillips reported that there will be a Being In The Band Workshop taught by Cypress Creek on December 10 at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church.  He is also may have an advance mandolin workshop in November or December.

Rob Sumner presented a report on liability insurance prepared by Kirk Riggins of  Page, Chaffin, & Riggins Insurance.  A $1,000,000 general liability policy would run $1,046 and the  Directors and Officers coverage same limit, $844 for a year.  Louis Medcalf is going to check into an alternate source and report bAack ast the December meeting.

 

Craig Yarbrough made a motion to increase annual dues in 2006 to $25.  New members joining after July 1 will pay $15 for the remainder of the year.  Those who joined for this year and next year will not have to pay more than the $20 that they have already paid.  The motion carried unanimously.

 

Bill Dutton and Bob Waters discussed slow jam and the need for good players to help with the jam.  Also, the need to divide the group was also discussed.

 

Discussion  took place concerning the need for more space.  Being on the lookout for a bigger place was discussed. Bob Waters also suggested looking into the possibility of using some of their Sunday School rooms.
