President Sam Ketchum called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

   Communications   -

Cheryl finished Newsgrass.

 

Riverfest details were given to the Commercial Appeal, Germantown News and Memphis Flyer. Tom Whittington’s article is in the Commercial Appeal and can be downloaded.

 

The North American Folk Music and Dance Alliance is moving to Memphis from D.C. Louis Meyers is the Director and founder of South by Southwest Music Conference in Austin. He brings much insight that might be useful to us.

Discussed revised schedule for Riverfest.

Mark will not do Newsgrass next year – Mare Carmody Borgelt is considering  being the editor next year.  

 

 Activities 

John Gay:

 

Riverfest - Oct. 15. and schedule is done. 2 Mule Plow had to cancel –

Gone South will be loaning their sound equipment to the event

Dale Gartell did Ducks Unlimited and offered to do the sound with his equip. for $400.00 and all agreed.

Set up starts at 8:00 am

Logos and T-shirts are being printed 175 total- with 20 caps

Jim Phillips reported that the workshops have gone well this year.  He will update with more information when other workshops are scheduled.

Donated $500 to help Katrina relief effort
