President Sam Ketchum called the meeting to order a 7:00 pm.

Committee Reports:
Communications Mark Winborn –
Yahoo News Group – Mike Albert reported that we have 8 to 10 new joiners each month. Just a reminder, when you reply to a post on the MABA Yahoo group you reply to all members.
Website – Keith Carter - Website will be updated but Keith needs final date on Riverfest.
NewsGrass – Mark Winborn
Sam Ketchum and Bob Waters commented again on the superb job that Mark and Cheryl are doing with the newsletter. Mark commented on the photos being sharper. All is looking good. Would be good to have new members listed in NewsGrass
Activities – John Gay
Ducks Unlimited is having a smaller scaled
event on the 17-18th
Riverfest is set for October 15, 2005.
MABA fall picnic: October 1, 2005
There will be a Shelby Farms Festival on October 22 and MABA Bands will have the opportunity to earn money if they participate.

There is a DVD Available _ DISCOVER BLUEGRASS 67 minutes long with 6 lesson plans. IBMA is offering this educational DVD at a very reasonable price. $5.00 each but if you buy more than 3 it is only $3 each. This will be good to donate to public/private schools and libraries. If you know anyone that is interested in purchasing, order will be placed through MABA to get the 3 or more price.
July 14th at 7:00 pm Gary Pierce will hold Dobro workshop at Millington Flying club.
Shelia Phillips will hold a women’s Harmony Workshop at the home on Diana Ford on August 5th, Friday night.
Randall Morton is willing to hold an advanced Banjo workshop, date and place to be set.
Brandon Apple is willing to hold a fiddle workshop, date and place to be set.
These kinds of activities and willingness of MABA members to help newcomers and others is the heart of this organization, making it strong and viable, a friendly place for all.

Amy Shelton:
Dingo Fest is approaching. It is a concert for unsigned artists. Was a success in the past. If there are any musicians interested in performing, contact Tommy Alstien at 901-337-4114.
Rob Sumner:
John McEuen of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band may be coming through Memphis and is willing to give some workshops and have a concert. Location and details are being finalized. He is an outstanding musician and has mastered several instruments and taught Steve Martin to play banjo. Call if you would like to go to the workshop- 901-412-6692
Mike Albert:
July 23rd will be MABA recording at Bartlett United Methodist Church. Jim Phillips has agreed to be stage manager and 18 slots have been confirmed. More volunteers will be needed. 18 Groups plus Gary Johnson. Cheryl will have a hospitality room. There is a presale of CD’s $8.50 Stage is at Shelby – runs up to Bartlett High- Doors to sanctuary will be blocked to avoid interruption.
Jeannie Gentry:
Ron Sullivan, banjo player, was diagnosed with cancer and there will be a benefit in his honor. Still working on details for the benefit. Shriners have offered to help as has a few other groups and will give more details as develop. He is in good spirits = going to radiation/chemo treatments at Methodist Outpatient.
Sam Ketchum:
T-Shirts- Candice is working on looking for something not too plain. Some have expressed a different design with larger logo. There are still members that prefer the smaller pocket logo. Out of some sizes and are losing revenue not having them available.
